Privacy Policy

Scrib (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture via Clerk authentication (supports Google OAuth and email/password).
- Audio & video files: Files you upload are stored encrypted on Cloudflare R2. We do not use your audio or video to train any AI models.
- Transcription data: The resulting text transcripts are stored in our database linked to your account.
- Usage data: We collect basic usage metrics (file counts, plan type, feature usage) to improve the product. We do not sell this data.
- Contact info: If you provide a WhatsApp number for notifications, we store it solely to send you transcript-ready alerts.
2. How we use your information
- To provide transcription services and deliver results to you.
- To send WhatsApp or email notifications when your transcript is ready (only if you opt in).
- To manage your subscription and billing (via Stripe).
- To improve accuracy and features, using aggregated, anonymised data only.
- We never sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data storage and security
- Audio files are stored encrypted on Cloudflare R2 (data centres in the region closest to you).
- Database is hosted on Supabase PostgreSQL with TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 at rest.
- You can delete any transcript (and its associated audio) from your account at any time.
- We retain deleted data for up to 30 days in backups before permanent deletion.
4. Third-party services
- Clerk: authentication and session management.
- Groq / Sarvam AI: audio transcription processing. Your audio is sent to these providers only for transcription and is not retained by them for training.
- Anthropic Claude: AI summarisation and insights.
- Cloudflare R2: file storage.
- Stripe: payment processing. We never see or store your card number.
- Resend: transactional email delivery.
- Twilio: WhatsApp notification delivery (if opted in).
5. Your rights (GDPR / Indian DPDP Act)
- Access: You can view all your transcripts and account data from your Settings page.
- Deletion: You can delete individual transcripts or your entire account at any time.
- Portability: Export any transcript in TXT, SRT, VTT, DOCX, or PDF format.
- Correction: Update your name and contact details in Settings.
- For any other requests, email us at privacy@scrib.now.
7. Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be notified via email. The effective date above shows when this version was last updated.
