What languages does Scrib support?

Scrib supports 41 languages: all 22 officially scheduled Indian languages (Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Urdu, Odia, Assamese, and more, each shown in its native script) and 19 major global languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, and Arabic. Indian languages appear first, and you can select more than one when audio contains multiple languages.

How accurate is Scrib's transcription?

Scrib uses best-in-class speech AI and is built specifically for Indian languages and accents, so it handles Hindi, Tamil, and code-mixed Hinglish far better than English-first tools. Accuracy depends on audio quality: clear recordings transcribe extremely well, and you can fix any rare error with one-click inline editing. No transcription is perfect, which is why every transcript is fully editable.

Can I record live audio in Scrib?

Yes. Scrib has a built-in recorder for capturing live audio straight from your microphone, with wake lock so your screen stays awake during long sessions. Recordings are transcribed the same way as uploaded files.

Does Scrib support code-mixed audio like Hinglish?

Yes, and this is what Scrib does best. When a speaker mixes Hindi and English in the same sentence, or Tamil and English, or Marathi and English, Scrib transcribes it naturally instead of garbling the switch the way English-first tools do. Code-switched Indian speech is the core use case Scrib was built for.

What file formats does Scrib support?

Scrib accepts common audio and video formats including MP3, MP4, WAV, M4A, and WEBM. You can also paste links from YouTube and other sources. Export your finished transcript as TXT, SRT, VTT, JSON, DOCX, or PDF.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Paid plans are month to month, or yearly if you choose annual billing, and you can cancel anytime from your account. There are no lock-in contracts.

What happens if I exceed my monthly minutes?

When you reach your monthly limit, you have three options: buy a credit pack for extra minutes, upgrade to a higher plan, or trim the file. Your existing transcripts always stay accessible, and uploaded files wait until you have quota. The free plan resets its 60 minutes at the start of each month.

Is there a free trial?

There's no trial to sign up for, because the free plan is free forever: 60 minutes a month, no card, no expiry. Try Scrib with your own audio, then upgrade only if it makes your work easier.

Do credit packs expire?

Yes. Credit packs are valid for 6 months from purchase, and unused minutes expire after that. Credits work with any plan and stack on top of your monthly quota, so you can top up extra minutes without upgrading.
